HANDLOOM WEAVING IN PEDANA
Pedana, a town in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh is popular for its Kalamkari block-printing. It also hosts a long history of handloom weaving tradition.
Currently, the town hosts over 200 looms, mainly in household, that have sustained this craft for generations.
Our mission was to investigate Pedana's handloom weaving from a sustainability perspective, considering its economic and environmental impact. We aimed to understand how this traditional craft supports the town's culture, people, and environment
This project was worked on along with Hana Najeeb, Pankaj K, Anamika S.
